Parent company Bwin, Partypoker, and Ladbrokes applies for a license
Entain, the owner of Bwin, partypoker, and Ladbrokes, among others, recently applied for a license from the Dutch Gaming Authority (KSA). The British operator expects to go live in the Netherlands in the summer of 2022. It reported this to stakeholders during the presentation of its annual results for 2021.
The Netherlands is mentioned several times in the annual report. Entain refers to the inaccessibility of the websites for Dutch real money cricket betting players on September 30, 2021.
At that time, the provider decided to withdraw after announcements from the KSA to take stricter action against providers who would make their websites available to players in the Netherlands without a license.
Entain also announced that it has already applied for a license in the Netherlands; it is the first time the provider makes explicit statements about this.
Entain also expressed the expectation that it hopes to enter the Dutch market in the summer of 2022. It speaks of the end of the half-year, which comes down to the period June/July.
It is not known whether Entain only wants to enter the Dutch gambling market with the online casino of Bwin or is planning to do so with multiple websites.
Bwin is an originally Austrian online gambling brand that was taken over by the British company Entain.
Bwin offers a complete platform of games of chance including sports betting, poker, casino games, and poker. Sports betting is Bwin's core business.
Members can find more than 90 different sports in Bwin's sportsbook, which has soccer as its main sport. Have a peek here and see for yourself that the Bwin has more than 20 million registered customers in over 25 major gambling markets. For Entain's online casinos, you'll have to be patient.
