My buddy Pam Vieira – McGinnis is over the moon with her new fabric line (Lakehouse Fabrics ) called Pam Kitty Morning – The perfect name for such a fun fabric line by top of the blog list -Queen Pam! This deliciously playful collection debuted this past spring market and has 63 flavors to choose from. It can’t get yummier than that! Pam offered to make the quilt from my Start Quilting DVD (C&T publishing). In addition, we have provided instructions for this great beginning quilt. The pattern is also perfect for a seasoned quilter who wants to whip out a quilt in no time.
To download the pattern go here and to order my Start Quilting DVD go here. Last but not least, call your local Quilt Shop to make sure they get their (and your) hands on this fabric.. We both wish for you that every day is a Pam Kitty Day Morning!
Or….should I say how I plan to spend my summer vacation. It seems that the stars have aligned and I have a delicious window of time to spend time in my studio. It has been forever and a day that I have had quilt top calling for an opportunity to lavish on my frame. Well, here she is (and yes, it’s a girl) and she is whispering sweet nothings in my ear…..gotta run!
I love traveling for Bernina of America. This past week I had the honor of visiting Hinkletown and Hoovers Bernina in PA. This time I was asked to teach both machine applique (which I have fallen seriously in love with) and piecing. With technology under my belt (sort of) we presented via camera, projector and screen. Other than a projector on the fritz for one session, it was great! Imagine a room full of quilting enthusiasts – hundreds to be exact! What struck me is that we are all on a similar journey as we continue to learn and grow as together. What other “sport” can boast this quality? Also, What is so amazing when I attend events is that as I look to the audience along with meet and greets, so many of you I have had the pleasure of meeting before – Super cool! If you have never had the opportunity to visit the PA area, this is bucket list and if you have, I am sure you will agree.
LibraryJournal.com has selected The Quilt Life as one of its Top 10 Magazines of 2010! Here’s what they had to say:
Here’s a magazine from the American Quilter’s Society for those with the “disease” (the editor’s words, not ours!) Creative and executive directors Ricky Tims and Alex Anderson lead readers through all aspects of creating, enjoying, and collecting quilts. The Quilt Life has a diversity of well-illustrated content that’s sure to interest both beginning and expert quilters and quilt lovers!”

Ricky has graciously offered one free tuition to a Ricky Tims Retreat in La Veta, CO, sometime in 2012. During this five day, ten-person retreat you will have the opportunity to study in an incredibly special environment with Ricky and foster your creative spirit.
TQS is sweetening the pot by throwing in $500.00 to help with transportation and lodging (to be reimbursed at the retreat).
